Arts & Crafts Fair

The annual Kingman Cancer Care Unit Arts and Crafts fair occurs the second weekend in November at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. It is the largest fundraiser for Kingman Cancer Care Unit.

The fair brings over 100 vendors from across Arizona and several other states with a wonderful variety of original arts and crafts including quilts, candles, soap, floral arrangements, holiday decorations, woodworking, jewelry, gift items, and food.

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes

The annual “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” cancer walk occurs the first Saturday in October and involves cancer survivors, fighters, friends, and family walking a one-mile course in downtown Kingman.

Registration includes a T-Shirt and lunch. All proceeds go directly to the Kingman Cancer Care Unit to help cancer patients in Kingman.

Walkers who raise $100 or more will have their registration fee waived and receive a T-shirt, lunch, and a goodie bag from local businesses. The walker who raises the most money will also win a special prize!

 

Andy Devine Days Rodeo / “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” Campaign

The ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink’ campaign empowers rodeos and western events in the U.S. and Canada to focus attention on the need for a cure for breast cancer. To date, the campaign has raised $5 million dollars for breast cancer charities, much of which stays right in the community.  The grassroots movement reaches beyond the rodeo arena to competitors, families and fans across America. All rodeo attendees and participants are encouraged to wear pink at the event. Additionally, representatives from the Kingman Cancer Care Unit, the City of Kingman, and Kingman Regional Medical Center will be on-hand to provide information and education about cancer and to raise funds for fighting cancer in our community (see ‘fundraisers’ below

 

Pepsi Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament

This four-man scramble occurs every October at Cerbat Cliff’s Golf Course in Kingman to raise funds for helping people with cancer in our community

 

“Pink Heals” Block Party

Occurring the first Friday in October, the Pink Heals block party coincides with ‘First Friday’ activities in downtown Kingman. During this time, Beale Street is closed to traffic between 3rd and 5th Street. The block party is free and open to the public and features many fundraisers for the Kingman Cancer Care Unit, free refreshments and entertainment from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.

The block party also features:

  • The “Pink Pig-Out" eating contest at Floyd and Company restaurant.
  • The “pink ribbon drop” sponsored by Taco Bell, which involves dropping hundreds of rubber pink ribbons from a Kingman Fire ladder truck.
  • A cornhole tournament between Black Bridge Brewery and House of Hops
  • Hot wheels races
  • Kid’s obstacle course
  • Name the pink police car

Proceeds from the event go to the Kingman Cancer Care Unit.
